School Uniform

School Uniform for pupils in Years 7 to 11

All pupils in Years 7 to 11 are required to wear school uniform which consists of dark long trousers or a skirt/pinafore with either a polo shirt or round necked sweatshirt in jade green embroidered with the school’s logo.

Our embroidered uniform items are available either online from  www.myclothing.com , there is a link at the bottom of this page which takes you directly to the online shop, or from Wirral Uniform Centre in Birkenhead, (opposite Argos near the bus station). First Class Uniforms and Workwear in Wallasey also supply embroidered Meadowside clothing.  All suppliers strongly recommend ordering uniform early to avoid peak times during August.

‘My clothing’ donate 5% of the sales to school funds.  To access the embroidered items go to myclothing.com, and enter our postcode or name, then ‘select pupil uniform’.  Items are then posted to you.

All items of uniform must be clearly and permanently marked with your child’s name.  We recommend that you do not have your child’s name embroidered on the outside of any uniform as this may present a safeguarding issue if a stranger could find out their name.

For P.E. lessons please provide dark shorts, a white t-shirt and trainers, and for swimming lessons please ensure your child has a swimming costume or swimming trunks and a towel.  Long hair should be worn in a bathing cap.  Swim goggles may be worn in the pool but again should be marked with your child’s name.  Please ensure that your child has shampoo and shower gel so they can have a shower after their swimming session.  All the showers are in individual changing/shower cubicles.

Footwear should be flat and enclosed.  For health and safety reasons flip flops and sandals are not allowed.  Extreme haircuts, for example short buzz cuts, undercuts, high fades and patterns are not allowed.  Heavy make up, false tan and brightly coloured hair dye are not permitted.

Pupils who are prone to feeling cold should be provided with layers, e.g. vests, which can be worn underneath their uniform as they will be required to remove their coat indoors.

Should you have any queries regarding school uniform please contact the School Office on 678 7711.
