Notification of Site Works: Changes to Routines and Access
Important Update for All Parents and Visitors – 01.09.25
Dear Parents and Visitors,
I hope this letter finds you well and ready for the new academic year.
Some work has been ongoing during the school holidays, funded by the school, to improve our learning environment and includes, some internal and some external refurbishment, to demonstrate our respect and commitment to the school.
As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving our learning environment, the LA is undertaking a series of building works across the site over the coming months. These improvements are vital for ensuring that our facilities remain safe, modern, and fit for purpose, supporting both our day-to-day operations and our long-term objectives.
Health & Safety Risk Assessments are being reviewed, undertaken and the preservation of Fire Exit routes are paramount, during the continuation of Contractors, working at height. The LA and Contractors will make daily site visits and communicate fully with our Site Manager/School Business Manager. Please let us know if you are concerned about site safety.
Purpose and Scope of LA Building Works
The planned works encompass several key areas of the site and are designed to address essential, maintenance needs, and in consideration of our continuing growth in pupil numbers, with little room to spare. Major enhancements mainly relate to:
Our aim is to minimise disruption where possible and to create an environment that better serves the needs of all staff, pupils and visitors, both now and in the years ahead.
Timeline and Scheduling
External building works have already commenced and are expected to continue through to mid-November 2025, weather permitting. The project will be executed in phases and activities, to limit impact on daily operations.
Please be aware that contractors may be present on-site during the standard school day (8.45am to 3:30pm), and certain works may occasionally take place early morning and require weekend or holiday access. We appreciate your flexibility and cooperation as we accommodate these necessary activities.
Changes to Routine and Working Practices
To support both the safety of staff, pupils and visitors, and the efficiency of the building works, several changes to routine will be implemented:
We recognise that these changes may require adjustments and appreciate your understanding as we strive to maintain a productive and safe environment for all.
Health and Safety Precautions
The safety and well-being of our pupils, staff and visitors is paramount. Please take note of the following precautions:
Regular safety briefings will be scheduled, and updates will be communicated to pupils via Pastoral Teams.
Looking Ahead
While we acknowledge that these building works may present temporary challenges, we are confident that the outcome will be a greatly improved learning environment for all. Modernised facilities, enhanced safety, and improved access will benefit staff, visitors, and pupils alike.
We thank you sincerely for your patience, flexibility, and cooperation during this period of change. Your support is greatly valued, and we look forward to working together to ensure a smooth transition.
If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
With kind regards,
Paula Wareing
